Shooting Bobby Heenan
Everybody (except for my partner) thought that casting Bobby "The Brain" Heenan in a toy commercial was a bad idea. I honestly thought he was the right actor for the job.
If you're not familiar with the career of Bobby Heenan, he is a bad-guy wrestler who became a bad-guy manager, and a bad guy announcer for WWF and then WCW. For my money, he is easily the most entertaining man in wrestling, and perhaps in any field of entertainment.
In 2002, he was diagnosed with throat cancer. He underwent some nasty treatment; lost parts of his tongue, throat, etc.; and ate through a tube for a year. He lost 100 pounds and he lost one of his greatest assets -- his voice. (He can still talk just fine, but he does have some impediments.)
Let me assure you, Bobby Heenan can still perform. He is still hilarious, and he is still one of the most entertaining performers alive. We've captured some of the funniest footage I've ever seen in the past 4 hours.
Stay tuned for the blooper reel.
